Test Availability Specimens accepted 24 hours, 7 days a week. Smear results available same day if received by 22:30.

Culture results: Preliminary after 24 hours; Final after 48 hours
Stat Request Only smear may be performed stat.
Additional Information Culture includes gram stain smear. Culture is for aerobic organisms only.

Labeling Refer to Pathology- 'Collection of Specimen'. Indicate source of specimen, date and time of collection on label.
Transport Deliver all specimens to the laboratory promptly after collection. Do not refrigerate.

HBOC Downtime Microbiology Test Order Form. Check Cult-Amniotic Fluid. Complete all requested information and indicate specimen source.
