Autologous Donation: Pre-depositing one or more units of blood prior to surgery.

• Donations should be made between the period 42 days to 7 days before the scheduled surgery.
• All patients will be required to register with St. Luke's to obtain a medical record number. The autologous unit is identified with both the donor's name and medical record number. 
• Guidelines for autologous donation require a minimum hematocrit of 33 percent. Donors should provide a list of all medication currently being taken.
