Singleton Associates, PA was founded in 1954 by Dr. Edward B. Singleton. In 1953, Dr. Singleton was appointed Chief of radiology at the newly constructed St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital. When St. Luke’s opened its doors in 1954, Singleton associates began providing radiology services, and have continued their contractual agreement with St. Luke’s for the past 57 years.
Singleton Associates, PA is a subspecialized group of over 50 Board Certified Radiologists with expertise in all diagnostic and therapeutic radiologic modalities. Singleton Associates provides radiology services for St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Singleton Associates recruits radiologists from many of the top academic programs in the country and most are fellowship trained. Many have certificates of added qualifications (CAQs) from the American Board of Radiology in their respective subspecialties. They provide medical imaging services and image-guided interventions including subspecialty services in body imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, mammography and breast imaging, neuroradiology, interventional radiology, neurointerventional radiology and cardiovascular imaging.
What is a Radiologist?
Radiologists are physicians with specialized training after they have completed medical school. As an integral part of the healthcare team, radiologists interpret images such as X-Rays, ultrasounds, MRI, and CT scans. The radiologists will use the patient’s history in addition to other examinations and tests to assist them in their interpretation. Once the interpretation is complete, a radiology report is generated and sent to your physician.
Patient Care and Safety
Many of our imaging technologies and medical procedures use radiation. Our radiologists are committed to maintaining the highest possible standards of patient care and safety, from the moment a procedure is requested through the final treatment and/or image interpretation. St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital works on continuous improvement and safety programs to ensure safety for our staff and our patients.
