Stroke, Aneurysm and AVM

Our Neurovascular Center at St. Luke's provides diagnostic assessment and treatment options for common and complex cerebrovascular disorders such as stroke, TIA, brain aneurysms and vascular (blood vessel) malformations in the brain and spinal cord. Launched in 2005, the Neurovascular Center has gained international prominence for advanced neurovascular surgical and endovascular interventions.

Our multidisciplinary team* is comprised of experts from interventional neuroradiology, neurocritical care  neurology and vascular neurosurgery.

We also offer the following clinical trials for acute neurological conditions including:

  • ALIAS (Albumin for Acute Stroke)
  • TREVO (Retrievable Stent for Acute Stroke)
  • ALISAH (Albumin for Subarachnoid Hemorrhage)
  • VISSIT (Stenting versus Medical Management for intracranial atherosclerosis)
  • Stem cell injection for acute stroke

  • The Vascular Center is one of only 14 centers in Texas to have received both Primary Stroke Center certification and the Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission  
  • Stroke Care Excellence Award: 2003-2008   
  • Top 5 in Texas for treatment of stroke: 2003-2009   
  • Top 5% in nation for treatment of stroke: 2003-2009
