Transplant Services

Since 1982, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital has been providing exceptional healthcare to patients referred for heart, lung, kidney and liver transplantation as well as implantation of Left Ventricular Assist Devices. St. Luke's Cooley Transplant Center provides a complete continuum of patient care, from initial counseling and evaluation to surgery, and from rehabilitation to post-transplant medical follow-up, and is continuously recognized for its successful outcomes.

Heart Transplant Program
Our Heart Transplant Program brings together medical treatment, surgery, transplant, and implantable devices to help patients with heart failure and other cardiovascular problems. More than 1,100 heart transplants have been performed since 1982.  MORE.
Liver Transplant Program
Our Liver Transplant Program boasts an exceptional team of surgeons, nurses and coordinators. They have performed more than 626 liver transplants since the program's inception.  MORE.
LVAD Program (Heart Pumps)
The Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) Program at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, home of the Texas Heart® Institute, is one of the most experienced, successful programs in the world.  MORE.
Kidney Transplant Program
Our Kidney Transplant Program is dedicated to expanding the frontiers of basic and clinical investigation in nephrology. We have performed more than 1,800 transplants to date.  MORE.
Lung Transplant Program
Our Lung Transplant Program provides the highest level of patient care. We have performed successful lung and heart-lung transplants since the 1980s, with more than 100 to date.  MORE.
