St. Luke's Antepartum and Labor and Deliver Unit has cared for hundreds of women with complicated pregnancies. On our unit, doctors have access to state-of-the-art medical equipment to ensure successful pregnancies. Depending on the situation, the doctor may employ some of the following diagnostic tools: fetal echoes, ultrasound, fetal non-stress tests (NST), or amniocentesis.
St. Luke's is one of only two hospitals in the Houston area recognized as a referral center for high-risk obstetric patients. The Perinatal Care Center, a joint program of St. Luke's, Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital, brings together the renowned clinical care and research excellence of St. Luke's maternal fetal programs and Texas Children's neonatal program.
But our expertise can also benefit women whose pregnancies do not appear to be high-risk. Women with low-risk pregnancies come to St. Luke's knowing that if there is any complication - however mild or severe - St. Luke's has the personnel and resources to help ensure a successful birth.
