The women’s center has a new state of the art facility to accommodate any new mother’s needs. The modern facility has 10 private rooms where the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum process occur in one suite, eliminating the need to switch rooms during your stay. The spacious suite is equipped with perfect overnight accommodations for the dad and has a home-like setting with soft colors. Although most babies are room-in care, the Dow Women’s Center has a nursery should the need arise. The new addition also has an infant security system in place for the safety of all newborns.
Our facility is not the only way to make you feel right at home, our highly-skilled compassionate nurses are available 24 hours, 7 days a week. For the mother and baby, our nurses have taken an extra step to be trained in maternal care and newborn nursery. To help you prepare for the magical event, childbirth classes are scheduled by childbirth educators. Topics include:
- Phases of labor
- Baby care
- Post-partum care
After the baby is born, a newborn picture is taken and all newborn tests are run including the state-mandated hearing screen test. A large waiting area for the families is located right outside of the birthing center. A registered lactation consultant is available during the mother’s stay and while they are home. Also, written instructions for baby and mother care are given out during discharge. Available services also include a web nursery to allow loved ones to view new arrivals online. During this heart-filled time, we are committed to delivering a perfect experience for such a magical event. The Dow Women’s Center would like to welcome your baby into the new world.
